April 16th 2014 - Progress report from our research scientist Emily

"I am now a permanent feature in the lab and loving every minute. Things have been very busy since Christmas which is great, both in and out of the lab. Research in science is always a slow process, especially at the start of a new project, but it is going well and the more data you get the more exciting it is. I recently attended the 'Mitochondria, Energy Metabolism and Cancer' conference in London which was fantastic and really inspiring - those sort of conferences make you want to run back to the lab and start experiments immediately! I have loads of experiments I am wanting to do so it is just a matter of planning it all in and finding time to do it all! I have just finished a 9 day run of experiments so I am surrounded with data that I am in the process of analysing. On that note, I had better get on with it! Best wishes to all at OYF. Em x"
