Ollie's Fundraising Roll of Honour - 2013
A huge thank you to all who have supported Ollie Young Foundation.
ASDA Be Good Again! December 2013
Back in early September we told you about the regional ASDA Store managers (including Ollie's Aunty Dawn, pictured here) who were among the amazing cyclists from 19 ASDA shops completing a 3-day, 300-mile bike ride around the branches along the M1, collecting donations of cash en route. In addition to the money we took on our OYF stall there, we were advised that we would be receiving a proportion of funds from the event, as one of the chain's charity partners in the region. We are delighted to report that we've just been awarded an eye-popping £9,500! This is an amazing donation with which to end the fundraising year. Thank you so much to all the ladies and gents involved, staff and customers. We are thrilled beyond words.
Oh Yes It Is! December 23rd 2013
Berkshire Events promised a magical Christmas pantomime 'full of fun, songs and adventure' and the audiences at the two performances of Aladdin on the 23rd certainly enjoyed themselves. While a storm raged outside (keeping the OYF stewards on car park duty entertained in an entirely different way) they enjoyed the exploits of the energetic cast and willed Aladdin on to win the heart of the princess. Aaaaah. And did the event raise money for us? Oh yes it did! Thanks so much to Jason, Scott (seen here with Simon) and everyone who supported the shows. See our pictures of the event here.
In the Bag, December 21st & 22nd 2013
We are currently the nominated charity for Sainsbury's in Winnersh and a bag packing exercise has always been on the cards. And what better cards than Christmas ones?
Thanks to the army of committee members, family and friends who answered the call for help on the last shopping weekend before the 25th, we raised a fantastic £2,330, packing several hundred Christmas dinners, gifts and plenty of of party 'cheer' and meeting some lovely people in the process. Many more photos from the weekend here. A special thank you to the elderly gentleman who spared what was obviously a very precious £2 coin; bless your heart, sir.
5,6,7,8 and Fundraise! December 20th 2013
A step-ballchange-tastic thank you to Alex and the pupils of the Alexandra Adamowicz School of Dance in Wokingham whose Christmas show raised over £60 for us. Here's Alex with her new recruit. See, he's doing his tap wings already, Alex!
Making Merry at Mizuno December 20th 2013
Wokingham-based sports equipment company Mizuno have supported us right from the earliest days of the OYF and we are delighted to say that their Christmas charity day once again raised funds for us - £293 to be exact!
Thanks so much to Rachel and the team there. Special mention to Ollie's Grandma Barbara for all the fine baking and knitting that contributed to this total. Photos of the event are here.
Patching Things Up, December 17th 2013
One of Ollie's former classmates and his brothers decided to do some fundraising for the OYF and designed a patchwork quilt. The result, with the help of their talented granny, was this wonderful creation which was raffled off to friends and family.
Thank you to Dillon, Reuben and Nathan and the Malabon family for such a very special idea, which raised a fantastic £100. And congratulations to the lucky winner, Rachel Tompkins!
Coining it In at Tesco, December 15th 2013
A huge thank you to the customers of Tesco in Finchampstead who supported the hours we spent at the store with our collecting tins and OYF leaflets.
£316 was raised that day. Fantastic!
West Forest Round Table Santa Float, December 14th 2013
There was a certain sense of deja vu when we accompanied Santa on the Northway stretch of his pre-Christmas rounds of Wokingham this year; just like 2012 it was a blustery and chilly night for our OYF elves to be out! But also as before, they were warmed by the smiles of the children who came to meet the VIP in red and positively glowed to hear the announcement that £300 was raised that evening. Thank you to all the households who supported this effort and also to West Forest Round Table for allowing us to join them again.
Oh Christmas Tree, December 6th-8th 2013
Our OYF tree was one of fifty displayed at the Festival of Christmas Trees at Wokingham Methodist Church in Rose Street but the only one to use keyrings and a sweatshirt for decoration, we bet! Thanks to all of those who visited and made donations in our collecting pot, raising over £20 in the process.
Coffee Time! December 2nd 2013
Well done to Ollie's grandma Barbara and her sister Jean, seen here with student helpers Michelle and Milena, for the coffee morning they organised at Reading University. And an equally huge thank you to all who attended, bringing in over £525!
Special mention to Milena's extremely generous father who heard about our charity and decided to kickstart the fundraising to the tune of £100. Thank you so much, sir.
Cory branches out at Forest, December 2013
Cory has been selling our wristbands during breaks and lunchtimes to students and staff at The Forest School in Wokingham, and has raised a fantastic £100 so far. Great effort Cory, well done!
Top Grades at Hawthorns, November 30th 2013
We are always guaranteed a warm welcome at Ollie's school, Hawthorns Primary in Wokingham, and this year we did a roaring (or should that be barking?) trade with our Guess the Name of the Dog competition at the annual winter fayre. Congratulations to Daniel for winning 'Honey' and thank you to everyone who came to see us there, helping us to raise a rather handsome £375! See photos of the event here.
Wokingham Winter Carnival, November 24th 2013
The Winter Carnival is one of the great community events of the year and we loved being there, amongst the supporters we refer to as our 'heartbeat'. We made new friends, caught up with some familiar faces, heard about some fab fundraising ideas in progress for next year and added a wonderful (and very much appreciated) £640 to our kitty.
The cherry on the cake was our Gold Award for Excellence from the Carnival Committee! Congratulations to the Anderson family, whose name 'Rosie' was the winning entry in our Guess the Name of the Polar Bear draw, and thanks so much to everyone from a very happy OYF team. See our photos of the event here.
Partytastic! November 9th 2013
The Edwards and Sudlow families are already special to us, having supported the OYF many times (100-mile ultra-marathon, anyone?). But we were especially touched to hear that Holly and Olivia had decided to request donations to our charity instead of receiving gifts from their guests at their joint 11th birthday party.
Thank you girls for a truly inspiring and wonderful £330. We love you! What beautiful ladies you are, inside and out.
Student Power, November 4th 2013
The RAG team at Reading University have been busy fundraising for us, as one of their two nominated charities for the 2012-2103 academic year. And on the night of the 4th we were delighted to receive a cheque for an amazing £1,014! A huge thank you to all the students who have worked so hard to support us. Hope to see you again someday soon.
Christmas Comes Early, November 2nd & 3rd 2013
We enjoyed our time on the stall at the Christmas Gift Fair and Food Market at Trunkwell House. Not only is it always great to meet new supporters and explain the aims of the Foundation and why every single £1 is so desperately needed, but to witness a queue to participate in our raffle was something else! We raised over £660 and we'd like to thank everyone who so generously donated items, especially to the lovely folk on the other exhibitor stalls for their contributions. Speaking of which, we also managed to get some early Christmas shopping done after our shifts were over. Win, win! See our photos here.
Foundation Fright Night, October 27th 2013
Our Halloween 'spooktacular' was a huge success last year, so we couldn't wait to slap on the face paint, don the silly wigs and dust off the creepy costumes once again for our second Halloween party for families. The kids boogied (or was it the Monster Mash?) to the sounds of 'Disco Dave' Hatch and had lots of fun with our themed activities and balloons donated by My Little Treasure, while the adults eyed up the spectacular Halloween cake donated by Cuppies n Cream for our raffle. We are pleased to report that we raised £605 at the event, which is frighteningly good! Here's Matthew with his prize for winning 'Best Carved Pumpkin' (at least, we think it's Matthew). See more scary snaps from the event here.
Fun at Finch, October 12th 2013
The Ollie Young Foundation and Make a Wish were the two charities benefitting from the fun day held at the Finchampstead Memorial Ground on the (thankfully) sunny afternoon of the 12th. Balloon racing, a dog show and stalls were there to tempt visitors, in addition to our OYF stall. Congratulations to Ruby who won "Chopper" there and sorry to Mum and Dad on having to find room for this new addition to the family!
Tanya's Triumph, October 7th 2013
Thank you to the wonderful Tanya Unger, whose Pampered Chef coffee, tea and cake day not only raised funds for Cancer Research UK but also added over £260 to our OYF coffers! Fundraising, great company and cake. What's not to like?
Chester Marathon, October 6th 2013
Tom Agar (right) was persuaded to run the Chester Marathon by his brother and overcame injuries and illness to complete the course, raising a medaltastic £605 for the OYF! Thanks so much Mr A.
Basingstoke Half Marathon, October 6th 2013
Put your hands together for Greg, who ran the Basingstoke Half Marathon and raised over £300 for the OYF in the process. Thanks so much Mr Nichols!
Fun at the Races, October 5th 2013
Tricia Henderson's Race Night was one of the highlights of last year's fundraising calendar, so we were delighted that she kindly put heart and soul into a second event this year. Tickets sold out months ahead and the magnificent amount of £2,125 was raised on the night! Tricia says "A trillion thank yous to everyone who came, bet, donated, helped out, sponsored, ate & drank." She also said "Same again next year?" You bet, Mrs H!
Mortimer 10k, September 29th 2013
Literally hundreds of people participated in this day which was based around the Mortimer 10k run. Not only were we the nominated charity of Reading Road Runners (the event organisers), but we had runners in the main 10k event, the children's 3k event and the 8k family walk too. And aside from those pounding the pavements of RG7, we had a positive army of bakers supplying delicious cakes to sell, too! We made £300 on our stall alone. Well done all!
Morrisons Face Painting, September 14th 2013
Thank you to Lisa Kalisz for organising a face painting session at OYF's local Morrisons store. This raised £76 as the kids were beautified while the parents organised the dreaded weekly shop!
Thames Path Trial, September 14th 2013
A huge well done to OYF friend Asif Rana, one of the 2,300 brave challengers who took on the Thames Path 50K Challenge for us. After twelve gruelling hours and two injury stops, Asif crossed the finish line to glory, raising a fantastic £655! He pronounced himself rather stiff after the endurance event but said it was "all worthwhile". You bet!
The Beat Goes On... September 8th 2013
Many, many congratulations to Caroline Mayhead and Claire Crowley (seen here) who, inspired by Ollie's story, completed the Run To The Beat half marathon at Greenwich Park, their first ever event of this kind. They have raised a whopping £1,432 for us, 572% of their target! This is just amazing ladies, thank you so, so much.
ASDA Be Good, September 6-8th 2013
Store managers (including Ollie's Aunty Dawn) were among the amazing cyclists from 19 ASDA shops who completed a 3-day, 300-mile bike ride around the branches along the M1, collecting donations of cash en route. Thank you so much to all the ladies and gents involved and to all the helpers in the stores, such as these lovely folk at Asda in Boston. We took £110 on our OYF stall on the Saturday and will be receiving a proportion of funds from the event, as one of the chain's charity partners in the region. Stand by for more news!
Making a Trunk Call, September 1st 2013
We were pleased to be invited along to the Beech Hill Show at Trunkwell House where we sold our merchandise and chatted to visitors about the OYF, all to the accompaniment of some of the fine local bands performing in the main arena. We made over £80 that day and somehow managed to spend copious amounts of our own cash on the Dodgems, rides and craft stalls, which was never part of the plan!
In Favour, August 24th 2013
Every bride should include something blue on her wedding day. When Ilona married Mark Deakin at Wasing Park in Aldermaston, that came in the form of the OYF wristbands the couple gave to guests as wedding favours! "Thanks for being part of our wedding," said the lovely couple. Well thank YOU Mr and Mrs Deakin, and we wish you all the best for your life together.

Triathlon Triumph, August 4th 2013
Many congratulations to Jeremy Grand-Scrutton who completed the Lymington Triathlon in 1 hr 45mins, 5 minutes under target and raising £390 for the OYF into the bargain! Great result Jeremy, well done.
Most Strange, August 3rd 2013
Strange the Jewellers in Wokingham's Rose Street mentioned that if they received 150 'likes' on their new Facebook page, they'd donate £100 to the OYF. Just 24 hours later and bingo! Thanks so much for this Jason and also for being so generous as to write out a second cheque when the total reached £300!
Buntastic Bake Off, August 3rd 2013
Move over Mr Hollywood and Ms Berry! We do love a good cake sale and here are Maisy, Ryan and Imogen tempting the customers of Morrisons in Wokingham one sunny Saturday morning. Over £230 was raised, which is simply BUNTASTIC! Well done team (and your adult support crew!).
Tracey Makes Waves, July 14th 2013
A big wave to Tracey Manfield who completed the Bournemouth pier to pier swim in Ollie's memory. Donations to Tracey's JustGiving account plus match funding from the Mars company resulted in a £250+ splash to our funds.
Well done Tracey and thanks so much for your support!
The Weekly Shop Blues, July 6th 2013
We were out in force to mark the official launch of the OYF as the charity of the year for Sainsbury's in Winnersh. It was also the first appearance of the OYF teddy bears which will be sold in the branch for the year and form part of a series of fundraising activities by staff and customers alike. We made a fantastic £800 on our stall that day, met friends old and new and also had fun on an in-store treasure hunt! If you've bought an Ollie bear, don't forget to send in a photo of him on his travels to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Shop 'til You Drop, June 29th 2013
Completing a busy day of fundraising was a shopping evening organised by a dedicated team of ladies from the Wokingham Gossip Girls Facebook group, headed by Catherine Stott. Thanks to the generosity of the stallholders and guests at Wokingham Town Hall, over £200 was raised for the Foundation. A special heads up to the lovely Eric, who was busy helping to promote Izzy B Nails there, in a manner of which we thoroughly approved!
Hawthorns Summer Fayre, June 29th 2013
Another Hawthorns family extravaganza and another fabulous show of support for the Foundation. We were joined by former West Ham pro Paul Mitchell representing the Sports Connections Foundation who manned the Pro Kick challenge.
Next door on the stall we did brisk business with our new Ollie's lollies, star keyrings and pencils, and our Guess the Name of the Monkey game. We raised a fantastic £821 that day and the Pugh family welcomed 'Mercedes' into their home!
Yogathon, June 29th 2013
A huge thank you to the gorgeous (and very bendy) Tanya Forgan who organised a yogathon at Cantley Park in Wokingham, generating over £2,300 for our fundraising on a day blessed with sunshine. "Little Ollie shone down on us that day," says Tanya.
Big love to all of you who participated and to those who kindly donated to the event too. Special mention to Russ the DJ and anyone who helped that first target of £1,500 which meant that Ollie's dad Simon had to fulfil his promise to wear Lycra to the event! Suits you, sir…
Family Silver, June 2013
When Ollie's Great Auntie Romy and Uncle Steve celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, guests kindly donated £120 to the OYF to mark the occasion.
Here are the happy couple cutting their cake. Many congratulations to you!
Pedal Power in Wokingham, June 23rd 2013
The Sudlow, Deaville, Banbury, Lewis and Edwards families braved the gloomy Sunday morning skies and took to the roads to complete the 15 miles of the Wokingham Bikeathon.
£120 was raised by this fantastic team, which sounds wheely great to us! Well done everyone, especially those with little legs.
Roaring Success with the Wokingham Lions, June 22nd 2013
We were delighted to be invited to the Wokingham Lions Charter Night event and committee members Sarah J and Karen went along to say hello and to meet representatives of other local charities. Little did we realise that we'd be presented with an enormous (literally) cheque for £5,000, our share of the proceeds from the May Fayre last month.
This is a huge step towards our first fundraising target and we are so grateful to the Lions. We haven't stopped smiling since!
Food, Glorious Food, June 22nd 2013
£200 was raised for us at the Holme Grange Village in Wokingham, where visitors braved the chilly weather and came along to try a selection of good food. How exciting to meet a unicorn too!
Blossoming Beauties, June 22nd 2013
Congratulations to Pam of Woodley's Blossom Beauty Room who, ably assisted by Vanessa, raised £301 for the OYF with the treatments offered during a day-long pamper event.
Thanks too to all the lovely ladies who booked in to be beautified for our cause.
Shop 'til you drop, June 21st 2013
The Ladies Shopping Night held at The Oakwood Centre in Woodley, was a great evening of shopping and pampering (who needs anything else?) which raised a fantastic £600 for us.
A huge thank you to the event organiser Harriet and everyone who supported it.
Just heavenly! June 16th 2013
Lovely Gabby and her family raised over £70 for us with a cake and biscuit stall at her church Sunday School.
Well done to all, especially Mum who baked up a storm beforehand!
Scouting Around, early June 2013
Make some noise for this lovely Berkshire Cub group who raised over £480 with their sponsored silence. Here's committee member Sarah J collecting the cheques.
Well done all (and well done Akela for such an inspired idea!).
Tough Mudder, June 9th 2013
Martin Dearlove (pictured) raised over £530 at the Tough Mudder London South event. 12 miles of water, mud, height and the odd bit of electrocution thrown in for good measure, too!
Well done to Martin and his team and also to Ben Hollyer who raised a further £500 facing the same challenges at the event. Terrific work, guys.
Don't Look Down! June 8th 2013
Sarah Gresty raised over £160 for us with a charity abseil from the 100-ft tower of St Alban’s church in Harrow.
A huge well done to you, brave lady!
3-2-1 Challenge, June 1st 2013
Q: How does 3+2+1=92?
A: When Jordan rides 3 miles, Holly walks 2 miles and they do 1 thousand skips between them!
This lovely brother and sister raised a fantastic £92 for us with their 3-2-1 challenge. Now that's the kind of maths we like...
Edinburgh Marathon, May 26th 2013
Huge congratulations to OYF fundraising stalwart Georges Lalahy, here receiving well-earned congratulations from his family after completing the Edinburgh marathon.
He has added £1,500 to our fundraising total so far, across several race events, and he still plans one more!
Also pounding 26 miles of Edinburgh tarmac was Dominic Attard, who achieved his personal objective of a sub four-hour run and raised a fabulous £1,250 for us in the process.
Awesome effort guys, thank you so much. As Dom himself would say, we are "well chuffed!"
Stalls at The Abbey, May 24th 2013
Each house at The Abbey Junior School in Reading chose a charity for a fundraising afternoon, for which they organised stalls and activities for staff and pupils. A big thank you to the girls Kensington House who chose the OYF and raised a fantastic £180.51!
Woodley 10k, May 12th, 2013
Emma Caswell achieved a personal best and a terrific £245 when she ran in the Woodley 10k. "I never have the privilege of meeting Ollie, which saddens me," says Emma. "I was bestest friends with his mummy Sarah at school but life got in the way and we lost touch for a few years. Now is my time to be there and do something to help."
Wokingham May Fayre, May 6th 2013
The force was with us as we donned our Ollie blues and attended the fabulous, sunny May Fayre in Wokingham.
Not only did we raise £460 on our stall but we had the opportunity to meet many of the people who have read about us in the local newspapers and even some who have fundraised for us, too.
As one of the three nominated charities for the event we will also be receiving a share of the profits.
Thanks to Wokingham Lions for this wonderful opportunity and congratulations to Ben and Rachel for winning this rather large and fluffy addition to their family home!
Judith and Colin's Wedding, May 5th 2013
While we were busy with our auction night, Judith and Colin were tying the knot! This lovely couple asked for donations to the OYF in lieu of wedding gifts, boosting our funds by well over £1,100.
"It was our pleasure to help such a fabulous charity," said Judith. "Helping the Foundation made us both very happy."
Huge congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Shepherd and we wish you much love, health and happiness. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness on such a special day.
Auction Night, May 5th 2013
Our first black tie event and what a corker!
Over 40 amazing auction lots and equally as many fantastic raffle prizes were among the temptations on offer for our guests in Winnersh that evening, along with fabulous entertainment courtesy of Heart FM Breakfast Show presenter Michelle Jordan and comedian and impressionist Aaron James. Throw in lots of silliness with wigs, masks and all manner of props in the photo booth, our casino and great food and drink and you have a sure recipe for success!
We can't thank the army of behind-the-scenes donors and helpers enough for enabling us to add over £5,700 to our funds.
Byte-Sized Fundraising, April 2013
Those lovely folk at Computer 2000 rallied to encourage their colleague Shaun Edwards when he ran his 100-mile ultramarathon for us in March. And OYF funds were further boosted by £444 with a company raffle for a laptop, won by lucky Laurence Mazzoni. Thanks to all!
Classic Cars, April 27th 2013
The Barkham and District Classic Car Club displayed some impressive wheels in Wokingham town centre and we, as their nominated charity, were invited to attend. We raised over £200 that day, showcasing our lovely new gazebo and hot-off-the-press OYF leaflets. Wheely great, thanks for this opportunity guys!
Dave the Marathon Man, April 21st 2013
After several years of attempting to secure a place in the Virgin London Marathon, Dave Cuschieri was able to compete this year and went on to complete the famous course in an impressive 4hrs 28 minutes.
He raised a whopping £1,770 for us in the process, in recognition of Ollie’s friendship with his seven year-old nephew. Dave said afterwards, “It was an absolute pleasure to raise money for such a great cause.”
Well done Mr C!
Wokingham Gossip Girls Networking Event, April 16th 2013
The ladies of the WGG Facebook group have helped the Young family since the early days of Ollie’s diagnosis and generous supported our fundraising activities since the launch of the Foundation last year.
On April 16th, 80 of the ladies met at Cantley in Wokingham for an evening of business networking. All proceeds from the evening came to the Foundation.
Sarah Young bravely took to the microphone for the first time and Claire briefly explained why funds are so desperately needed for brain tumour research. It was lovely to meet so many local friends and supporters, several of whom have events lined up for us later this year.
Easter Run, April 13th 2013
Gorgeous Jasmine completed the 5k Easter Run on a sunny day in Warwickshire, raising £86 for the Ollie Young Foundation.
Well done Jasmine and thank you so much!
Wolf Run, April 7th 2013
Discussions at a Christmas party (which may or may not have involved a cheeky bottle of wine) led to Olly White, Eleanor Burton, Alex Reynolds and Sarah Bell competing in the 10k WOLF (Woods, Obstacles, Lakes & Fields) Run in Leamington Spa and raising a mudtastic £1,580 for our charity.
“Sarah was our child minder and so my kids knew Ollie well,” explains Olly. Ellie suggested doing the Wolf Run, something different from a standard 10k run as it had obstacles, water and mud to deal and so felt like a good fun challenge. The team were moved by Ollie’s story on the website and happily agreed to my suggestion to run for the OYF.”
Shaun Edwards’ Thames Path 100 run, March 23-24th 2013
There aren’t enough superlatives in the dictionary to describe the achievements of Shaun Edwards who raised over £4,700 with his incredible 100-mile Thames path ultra-marathon in March. Shaun trained for months in all weathers and at all times, day and night, to prepare for the race, held on one of the coldest weekends for years, along a route which was 70% mud. Only 89 of the 300 registered competitors complete the course. 39th in the field, with a time of 23½ hours, was our man Shaun.
“The commitment I gave with all the training meant that I couldn't do the race just for the sake of it and I can't pretend it wasn’t hard, regularly going out to run in the cold and rain for four hours, but having such a worthwhile target as I did in raising funds for the Ollie Young Foundation made all the difference,” said Shaun.
This achievement was many things, not least an unbelievable feat of endurance, a captivating challenge to follow (as evidenced by the Facebook posts, texts and emails we received while tracking his progress throughout the race) and an inspiration to us all.
We simply can’t thank Shaun, nor his support team of wife Stephanie and children Holly and Daniel, enough.
Joe and Sam’s Sponsored Silence, March 19th 2013
Silence is golden, they say, and never more so when it is raising lots of lovely lolly for a good cause! Brothers Joe and Sam decided to do some fundraising after watching Comic Relief and went on to hold a sponsored silence to support Comic Relief projects and the Ollie Young Foundation too.
For a whole 30 minutes, not a peep was heard from the 8 and 5 year-old, while they raised a fantastic £126.56. Mum Janine says she was “very proud” and we are very grateful, so make some noise for those boys!
Reading Half Marathon, March 17th 2013
Georges Lalahy, one third of the Hawthorns Hobblers, was back pounding the streets of Reading at the annual half marathon, joined by several other runners raising funds for us in their Ollie blues, including Sam D and Sam G from Finchampstead FC and Tracey Evans.
It was something of a soggy day, to say the least, so we doubly appreciate everyone who ran for us and all those who turned out to support them, too.
Hawthorns Hobblers Triathlon, March 5th 2013
The Hawthorns Hobblers had a target of raising £1,000 for our charity and they have already smashed it, having completed a triathlon at Green Park in Reading. Georges, Gerald and Gordon shared the running, swimming and cycling duties and Richard (here in his Ollie blues) will also be running for us later in the year. The triathlon came hot on the heels of the days in which we remembered Ollie’s passing and on the next day, his birthday. “It reminded us why we are doing this,” explained Gerald.
We love these guys, they've been a fantastic support to the Foundation right from day one. Go, go, go, chaps!
Naughty but Nice! Cake Sale February 5th 2013
Move over Mary Berry, Hawthorns Primary Schoolgirls Charlotte, Libby, Abi, Katie, Kiana and Imogen have proved, as if it was ever in doubt, that everyone loves cake! Their cake sale at the school raised a fantastic total of £103.70, with funds being equally shared between CLIC Sargent and the Ollie Young Foundation. Well done girls! Of course, all cakes consumed in the name of our charity are calorie free...
Cakes at Kier, February 2013
Ollie's Trolley Dollies Darren and Nicole sold cakes on a dress down day in Kier's Basingstoke office.
With additional help from their colleagues in Kier’s Cardiff office, a fantastic £320 was raised. This amount would sponsor 10 hours of a child's spa time at Helen & Douglas House or (almost) buy a special refrigerator for the Brain Tumour Research lab at Portsmouth University.
Why not try that fundraising idea where you work?
