7 years into setting up the Ollie Young Foundation, with the help of you all, we have funded 9 years worth of research.
Katie, our 3rd funded PhD student started her journey with the OYF in Portsmouth’s Cellular & Molecular Neuro-Oncology research group back in Oct 2016. 3 years on and she has successfully defended her thesis. 🎉
Katie says: “There are not enough words to say thank you to all at The Ollie Young Foundation who tirelessly raised vital funds for research into paediatric brain tumours and who gave me a life-changing opportunity to pursue my PhD. I have a picture of Ollie on my desk, every day I look at his face and even on the hardest days with failed experiments it drives me to work harder and do my best to make a difference. I dedicate my thesis to the DIPG heroes, children we have lost too soon to this devastating disease. We will keep fighting and we will do better!”
